Summary
On 10/21/02, in his State of the City Address, Mayor Cohen announced that there would be significant changes to the course of the NNHS Renovation Project necessitated by recent recommendations.  This was followed by a Letter to Parents, from the Mayor, the Superintendent, and the Chair of the School Committee on 10/22/02, notifying the community of a Special Meeting on 10/29/02.
After putting the Renovation Project on hold, the Mayor announced his intention to form a Citizens' Task Force, to study the issue, on 11/20.  Dr. Michael Jellinek was announced as chair of the Task Force on 12/2/02.  The Task Force issued its recommendations to the School Committee on 5/15/03.  For information relating to the work of the Citizens' Tasks Force, please visit the NNHS TASK FORCE WEBSITE .
A Final Feasibility Study for NNHS was issued on 11/10/03.   The School Committee voted to build an entirely new school on 7/7/04.
