Public Comment Procedure for Regular Meetings of the Newton School Committee
The Newton School Committee will hear public comments on any subject at both the beginning and the end of any regular School Committee meeting. Speakers will be heard in the order in which they appear on the Speaker Sign-Up sheet, located next to the microphone on the speaker table. After hearing all speakers on the list, the Chair will also allow others, who have not signed up, an opportunity to speak.
Upon being recognized by the Chair and taking the microphone, each Speaker should identify himself/herself by stating name and address (please speak clearly into the microphone). Comments are limited to 3 minutes.
This procedure does not apply to Special Meetings unless so stated.
