MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING – DECEMBER 27, 2001

EDUCATION CENTER, FRAZIER ROOM, 5:30 P.M.

 

PRESENT:               Chairperson Verne Vance, Vice-Chairperson Anne Borg, Susan Albright, Rodney Barker, Susan Heyman, Anne Larner, Nancy Levine

 

ALSO PRESENT:  School Committee elect: Patricia Kellogg, Attorney Michael Loughran

 

ABSENT:                 Andris Vizulis, Mayor David Cohen

 

 

CALL TO ORDER

 

Chairperson Verne Vance called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. and noted that the purpose of this meeting is to ratify the custodian's agreement.

 

Discussion

 

Attorney Loughran announced that the Newton School Custodians Association (SEIU Local 454) had ratified the Agreement the previous weekend.

 

Anne Borg, Negotiating Team Chairperson, reviewed the proposed Memorandum of Agreement.

 

            MOTION:    It was moved, by roll call vote, to ratify the Memorandum

of Agreement between the Newton School Committee and

                                    the Newton School Custodians Association (SEIU Local 454)

                                    effective July 1, 2000 - June 30, 2003.
